ALBERTA SALE

SALE RESULTS from Dec 2, 2009 Cayley, Alberta

  • Thank you to all who attended the 8th Annual Ringstead Ranch Bull Sale.
  • A special thank you for all of our Volume Buyers:  Davies Livestock, Cronkhite Cattle Company Ltd., Dugdale Agco 2000 Ltd., Ost Cattle Co. Ltd. & Drowning Ford Grazing Association.
  • High Seller:  Lot #31 Red Ringstead Kargo 183U wento to Triple X Angus.

Welcome to our 8th Annual Bull Sale and the 17th year we have been breeding Angus cattle. This year marks the start of another new venture as our first Simmental calves were born in June/July 2009. Look for coming two year old Simmental bulls in our sale next year.

On another note, this year will be the first time in over 10 years that we have not sold bulls with Blades Angus. We have decided to concentrate on our December sale in Alberta and our March sale in Saskatchewan and except for farm sales; we won’t be selling bulls next spring in Alberta. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gloria for all her support and advice over the years, but especially for her friendship. All of this I know will continue despite us not selling bulls together. Gloria, it has been a pleasure doing business together.

Saskatchewan SaleSASKATCHEWAN SALE

Coming up MARCH 10 2010 at Saskatoon Livestock Sales in Saskatoon Ringstead Ranch & Sunny Valley Simmentals Joint Angus & Simmental Bull Sale. This already marks our 5th year selling bulls with the Libke family of Sunny Valley Simmentals. We are eager to present another strong and predictable set of coming 2yr old Red and Black Angus bulls.

Clearly the Canadian cattle industry is undergoing changes right now as we all adjust to deal with the new Canadian dollar. At Ringstead, we believe that our cattle will continue to come to the front in an industry that increasingly requires a lower maintenance animal. Our cow herd calves in May and June on pasture with very little supervision. Any cow or heifer that does not have a calf by her side at the end of November is gone. Any cow that does not produce saleable bulls or replacement heifers is gone. Any cow that exhibits bad feet or udder structure is gone. Our cow herd is not pampered; they are bred to produce functional cattle with minimal time or dollar input. These are the type of cattle that will help you transition in our ever tougher business environment.

We continue to stand behind our cattle and endeavour to provide the best service we can to you, our customer. We thank you for your continued support, your help and your feedback. We appreciate how hard you work and it’s our goal to minimize the amount of time you have to spend worrying about bulls.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Saskatoon on March 10 2010.
